Took this deck to a 12 person win-a-box event at my local game store. We had what I felt was a good meta representation with ePoe/eMaz, eSing/eBala, ePalpatine, and several other Emo Kid variants. Tourney structure was a four round Swiss event.

Round 1 vs. Jango Fett/Kylo Ren/First Order Stormtrooper

Not much to say about this match-up, as the decklist wasn't very tuned. Hardest part was cracking through all of the health. Nonetheless, my opponent here is a great dude and I hope he'll be able to keep coming back to play!

Round 2 vs. Darth Vader - Dark Apprentice/Kylo Ren

Mirror match! While the characters were the same, our decks went in different directions as to how we approached the build. I went hard on the route (trying to abuse Sith Holocron as much as possible), while my opponent went a more based route. We actually mirrored damage on the opposing Vaders through most of the first round, but I was able to knock off his Vader before he got mine (Force Illusion helped a lot with that). After that, it was beat-down time on his Kylo.

Round 3 vs. Poe Dameron/Maz Kanata

What a game! He got off a Thermal Detonator to start, while I knocked off his Maz in round 2. Kylo was gone very quickly as well, leaving Vader to slug it out with Poe. Force Illusion again came in with several strong assists, including keeping a 9-damage Vader alive long enough to Meditate over a and finish off Poe. Fantastic game that balanced on a knife's edge.

Round 4 vs. Palpatine - Galactic Emperor

This game was a grind. She got Force Illusion on Palpatine twice, forcing me to play through that. We were on her battlefied, Otoh Gunga - Naboo, and I was never able to claim. Finally, she got off a Rise Again.

However, a steady stream of dice control in the form of Isolation, Deflect, and Feel Your Anger kept both of my characters alive in spite of Palpatine's ability. More fortunately, I was able to hit Rise Again with Kylo Ren's before she could play it, effectively mitigating that copy of the card. While she twice discarded my whole hand with the aid of Lure of Power, my rolls were able to deal enough damage on their own that I was finally able to slide through for the last damage with the aid of a Vibroknife.

Final Thoughts

Definitely a strong deck, especially as a more budget option. You don't need any legendaries (though Force Choke is an option), and the characters alone can carry you a decent way. I never had the chance to use many of my upgrades in these games, but sticking a Holocron into Mind Probe or Force Throw early really helps you control the tempo of the game. Force Illusion is incredibly good, and Meditate is very helpful when you're either not able to claim, or not on Emperor's Throne Room. For sure going to keep running this!
