Triple threat deck which can soak 50 damage and has the most reliable dice in the game. Can square up against anything, with faily good dice control and just solid, consistent hurt. Redploy+Endless is the saving grace of these guys - Once you have 2 Aftermaths you are raking it in.

I love it - with one caveat.

You've only got three disrupt sides in your entire deck, so it doesn't seem like Imperial Inspection is going to be that reliable. Have you tried Attrition in its place?

BaronButcher 123

From experience, I can tell you it is hyper reliable. You functionally have 5 sides with Training and is is immeasurably useful in gimping things like Force Speed or Force Illusion

How often do you manage to claim the battlefield ?

BaronButcher 123

@michaelius I'd say about 65% of the time. The deck is geared towards reducing total actions per round, but it depends on two things. How early I can get Squad/Wingman out, and how fast (Palp/PoeMaz fast) the enemy deck is. But I will often find myself sacrificing small value dice to claim, and keep momentum through to next round. With 30+20hp (I love Endless Ranks) you can take the risk

I love the idea of an all Death Trooper deck it's one of the decks that I want to make however with the limited disrupt sides you have on your Death Trooper I really wouldn't include Bombing Run 1 in 6 even on 5 dice the odds of you wasting an action to do 1 damage to 2 characters or even 3 isn't really viable, the same can be said with Suppression this card has great value for what it can do but since your deck as mine is all about doing damage you really shouldn't be wasting a damage side to remove a die it should be to do damage . . . but that's just my feeling for that card it seems more for a mil/stall deck than an aggro deck. Also you might want to consider adding Imperial Discipline to your deck another +1 damage side for range but the ability to change a die to a range side can be quite useful,

Either way have fun man love the deck.

I have interrogation droid instead of Inspection.

I agree that Imperial Inspection is totally worth it. With just the 3 base character dice there is a 42% chance of hitting a Disrupt result the first time they are all rolled out. Assuming 1 of those dice are re-rolled, there's a 51% chance of seeing a Disrupt. Re-roll 2 of those dice, there's a 59% chance of seeing a Disrupt. This means that Imperial Inspection will be reliably triggering every other turn that 3 Death Trooper dice are available [all characters alive or 2 alive with one Training in play]. Given that Imperial Inspection doesn't cost any resources at all to play and has a significant impact when triggered, having it go off every other turn is a pretty amazing return on investment.

I've been playing a very similar 3DT deck that cuts Undying Loyalty, Wingman, Bombing Run, DH-17s and Suppression for Probe, Imperial Discipline, Promotion, Logistics and Riot Control Baton. I will try out Suppression, Undying Loyalty and maybe the DH-17s to my deck [not a fan of Bombing Run] .. but I recommend trying Riot Control Batons in this deck.

Batons might seem like an odd choice in a ranged damage deck, but all its sides are black and it has a free re-roll. Most importantly, the Redeploy keyword makes the weapon very strong in a deck where the characters like to die so much.

My instinct is to go with either Squad Tactics or Wingman, but not both. Wingman needs to be activated twice before you generate a free action, since it takes an action to play. I prefer Squad Tactics since the characters in this deck can easily die before Wingman gets to trigger twice, but maybe I should give Wingman a chance.

@StaticCat I agree, Bombing Run is the weakest card in this deck and is on the line for a replacement. Of all the times I run this it often ends up just being trashed for rerolls. Currently looking for a new replacement. Considering We Have Them Now although it goes against the deck's focus of cheap events.

@striatic, I've found that having both Squad Tactics and Wingman gives more guarantee of setting up a speedy opening which is essential in securing wins over harder opponents. Wingman is useful to draw at any point, and squad is only useless at the lategame at which point it can be burned for a reroll.

Consider replacing Bombing Run with Probe. It does significant work late in rounds, clearing out events, control or otherwise. Hitting No Mercy with a Probe is a very strong play versus blue villain. The information Probe gleans you can also be very useful.

I think We Have Them Now isn't worth the 2 Resources when you would rather re-roll your dice into the high damage state, potentially hitting Imperial Inspection triggers in the process.

We Have Them Now pays huge dividends. It's worth it. I run a very minor variant that's done some good slaying.

I also find Attrition to probably be a better call than Undying Loyalty, or throw in a 0 control like Doubt.

I built a very similar deck for my daughter to use. I built mine with a little less dice control and just went straight for the reliable damage. Lockdown ambushing into We Have them Now is gross in this deck and reliable pop someone in the face for 8. I haven't made up my mind between Promotion and Imperial Inspection, so I run one of each for now. I find Endless Ranks to be too costly in the long run, as this deck has a hard time generating resources to begin with. I built my Three Death Trooper deck for the purpose of having something my 7 year old could pilot and she actually went 2-1 at an event the other night with it!
