I wanted to try a MagnaGuard oriented deck out, but given the resources needed above and beyond what a 3x [Death Trooper](/card/02001 deck needs, I had a choice between e- Bala-Tik - Gang Leader e- Bazine Netal - Master Manipulator, and Unkar Plutt - Junk Dealer. For my first iteration I thought I'd try a one die Unkar, then proceed from there.

Electrostaff is clearly designed to play with MagnaGuards, Imperial HQ is there for good measure, and of course the Hound's Tooth and the Riot Batons.

Additional shield and resource support was a difficult decision. Either Personal Shield and Aftermath, or, in this case, I thought I'd try out something shiny and new, the Hound's Tooth, which goes both ways, and is more permanent than Aftermath.

I know I could have added more action economy oriented cards, but I felt this deck needed mitigation more, given Wingman, and Tactical Mastery. Not to mention, Squad Tactics would no longer be viable once Training was placed on either MagnaGuard.

I'm not expecting to win the battlefield much, but when I do, I felt like Starship Graveyard - Jakku, was not only thematic, but in a clinch, gave the opportunity to claim and use its ability to counter discarding of this deck's cheap upgrades and supports.

My biggest worry is the 3 dice starting game, because of this, I'm planning on also trying it with Bala, and Bazine as well.

Thanks for looking!

Follow-up: As I thought, after playing with the deck, the three dice just doesn't cut it here. If I want two MagnaGuards and four dice, I'll have to try another combination.Otherwise, perhaps running more than one MagnaGuard just isn't very feasible, unless a three Magna build would. Though, with the bulk of their melee damage requiring resources, I really think it needs a steady way to either pay, or, avoid. While there are ways to avoid via Electroshock and Imperial HQ, their costs make them easy targets to get rid of, and therefore probably not a good primary method of resource avoidance.
