Ramin2-D2 550
The counterpart to Jango/Phasma.
Ciena definitely has her benefits, having seriously good dice sides, her ranged are strong for her point value, she can produce two resources, or disrupt. She can support her bigger partner in a variety of ways. Cad has his obvious action cheat ability, paired up with two sides of his dice that can hit hard.
Ideal cards in opening hand are Salvage Stand, Logistics, Imperial HQ. Note, that I purposely did not state the need of a weapon in opening hand. After play testing much, with trial and error, I realized that turn one is usually just a set up round. Set down Salvage Stand, then roll in Ciena, as she will probably hit resource, and get to trigger the disruption, halting the opponent from an early move. Imperial HQ is a big helper early on, to save on resources in the long run. Logistics on the Ciena die early to get the resource advantage. Later game, use her die to Bait-And-Switch for a modified two.
Only action-cheat Cad, after Cienna rolls out, and if you can pay for the Weapon and still have a resource open or an Imperial HQ on the field. More than likely when you do roll damage with Cad, you will probably want or need a resource. Also, having a resource open for removal is nice. With the action-cheat on an ambush weapon, rolling Cad has some chance of damage, but probably not consistent, thus the need of Unpredictable and Battle Formation come handy just to reroll one of his dice, and still maintain the ambush.
Sustained Fire is in there for the times opponents stock up shields on multiple characters. Best Defense only one, since taking three damage on small Cienna is harsh. Tactical Mastery for the times that you don't have an ambush weapon. F-11D Rifle to overwrite the X-8 for redeploy. Dug-In since you usually claim the battlefield. Using this battlefield, when you claim, you can choose not to use the ability just to go first. However, sometimes healing the two damage is worth it, since you are so much quicker with Cad action-cheating, going second is not so bad.

What are your thoughts on some defensive measures like Hunker Down or Personal Shield? I think 1 Rend could come in handy. Do you like Unpredictable better than Doubt? Doubt helps kill modifier dice but Unpredictable has ambush and allows you to reroll your own if needed. |
i would say in an agressive deck like this, Hunker Down and Personal Shield may slow you down, and take up the slot of putting on another weapon for more damage. Dug In is usually enough of an edge, since this shouldnt be a long match. i run Unpredictable and Battle Formation to reroll Cad Bane die on the ambush. Doubt is not bad, good suggestion! |
I am just curious, but why don't you run any plots even though you have 2 points available? Just curious. |
Sustained Fire!! didn't even think of that. If shields are sneaking back into the meta, that might be a great addition. Do you own all of these cards or just on TTS? This deck is about $120+ USD
