ALERT: bad english incoming (but give this guide a try :P )

I'm not used to publish list here on swdb, but I thought I had to do this list with guide because I think this is a really fun deck to play that can also achieve some results.

I'm not saying this will win all the regionals, but i'm think this is a good T1.5 deck that can fights against anything with good results.

In my opinion the mainly reason this deck is not considered into Tier1/Tier1.5 is because people don't play it at its best. It is played as a "control" deck and for that reason many lists I see on swdb are sub-optimal with bad choices (Ezra over Pilot first of all)

So, if you like this deck, you should definetly try this AGGRO list ;)

INTRODUCTION

Why this deck has to be played Aggro?

Because of Hera ability!

She is the only character (with Poe) that let us roll into the poll a "5 cost die" without paying any resource. Instead of paying 5 to play a Falcon or U-Wing, we only "pay" 1 or 2 dice (Hera's + Maz focus/C-3PO) each round. This add HUGE value in your early rounds

Moreover this deck shines when the 2 key characters are still alive, so we have to take a good advantage early on and setup for when one of them die. We will see later how to do that, but Ezra+Second Chance is not a good setup, it's only a way to delay the inevitable

This list is also really consistent, I removed a lot of useless vehicles that got stuck in you hand (you really need only 1 each round). For that reason I also removed Rally Aid and Our Only Hope to add a lot of removal which were missing in many lists I saw here. We need to keep alive every character as long as possible to setup for late game.

CHARACTERS

Maz Kanata - Pirate Queen

She's crazy good but we already know that. In this deck we use her to focus into Hera's ability (if you don't have c3-po or don't roll it naturally) or to action cheating vehicles die into damage

Hera Syndulla - Phoenix Leader

As I said before, she gives us incredible boost in economy early on because we play a 5 cost vehicle for (almost) free. We pay a die immediatly and we pay a card the next rounds ('cause we are basically playing with 4 cards from the second round since the vehicle has to be played again from your hand). As you can see we are paying a little bit every round for that Falcon played round 1 for free, that also why we have to be aggro and getting advantage early on by killing one of their character fast

Rookie Pilot

Since we are playing with 4 cards each round, we usually have only 1-2 rerolls after playing the events we need to. That's not a big deal since we have many focuses in characters dice but his ability make our deck WAY more consistent. He also has 1 more damage than Ezra.

Ezra (quick note)

What he gives us are resources (that we don't need because we play our stuff for free), Second chance (I really don't like it in this list) and Electroshock (only thing I'd like to have). Nothing is even close to the possibility to reroll our best die, especially because that die goes in the pool more than once time a round thanks to our events

BATTLEFIELD

Being Aggro doesn't mean being fast!

This deck is one of the slowest so we won't ever claim, so there is no reason to play Docking Bay - Finalizer. At least if we play on Weapons Factory Alpha - Cymoon 1 we could take some advantage the first round.

Anyway we (almost) always TAKE SHIELDS, so that doesn't matter that much. Put both shields on Maz usually, unless you already know that your opponent will go for Hera. The only time we consider our battlefield is when we have T-47 Airspeeder in opening hand

GAME PLAN

Our game plan is to do damage as fast as possible as any other aggro deck, with a only one difference (see later).

Thanks to Hera's ability, Strategic Planning and Reckless Reentry we can do A LOT of damage each turn. We can easily activate our Falcon 2/3 times a round and keep in mind that we also have a lot of on other dice.

Resource managment is really important. Always plan ahead how you gonna spend them, always save for removal and SP or RR. Play Speeder and Lead by Example only if you can really afford it. Same can be said for Quad, before you play them with Hera special be sure you can spend 1/2 later on to convert them into other vehicles, otherwise you have just wasted a round.

The BIG difference with any other "classic" aggro deck is that, while doing damage, we need to setup for when one of our key character die.

---> If they go for Hera we have little time to setup our plan.

We need Quadjumper and Recycle early in the game to play at least 1 big vehicles that will remain on the board. Once we have managed to do that, Maz will easily carry the game thanks to her ability, Partnership and Lead by Example. If your opponents target Hera first usually, put in second Lead by Example. Keep on being Aggro and action cheat a lot of dmg thanks to Maz+Lead/Partnership

---> If they go for Maz first we are not in a rush.

Keep playing your vehicles with Hera special (you need C-3PO to help you) and when you have the opportunity take advantage of the combos with Recycle, Quadjumper. You should arrive late game with at least 2 big vehicles in play that will deal tons of damage to end the game. If they try to kill Maz first it's ok to fall behind a little bit and focus a little bit more on economy, you will recover late game with great vehicles on the table.

---> If they go for Pilot you are happy about that :)

Those setup are your biggest win condition. The advantage of this deck compared to the popular "4 dice 2 character" lists is when a character die on each side!

If you manage to get a good board state (before Hera or Maz dies) you have lost almost nothing, while they have lost half of their power with one dead character. That's why you put the put the pressure on them

MULLIGAN

1) You need to have one of the six high cost vehicles in your opening hand (Millennium Falcon and U-Wing better), so discard everything if needed.

2) If you have 1 of those vehicles, then you can look for C-3PO, Flank, Quadjumper, Strategic Planning

Never keep: More than 1 high cost vehicles, Partnership, Lead by Example

CARDS

  • Reckless Reentry, Strategic Planning: Definetely the cards that make this deck good

  • Removal: You need a lot of removal. I like the ones I play, but there are others good as well (like Field Medic. Try whatever you are confortable with, but they should cost 0 ir 1, you can't afford more

  • T-47 Airspeeder: It's cheap and really good with two 2 side that have good synergie with the rest of the deck. I definetly prefer this over Y-Wing because 1 resource is a lot less and we don't want indirect damage, but we want to kill the first character fast.

  • Lead by Example, Partnership: As I have explained they are great combo with Maz if they kill Hera first

  • Quadjumper, Recycle: Good to get some resources and play more vehicles from hand. Recycle is better than Quad if you want to cut one of these

Give this deck a try, I really like it even if it is not Tier1 probably, but it can win some tournament trust me.

I hope I've explained everything in a clear way, if not ill answer at the comment :)
