With all the rumour that Thrawn - Master Strategist is unplayable, i build my own version, pairing him with Kylo Ren - Vader's Disciple. Still waiting for Anakin Skywalker - Conflicted Apprentice to be released as it looks like it could replace kylo, but well lets wait for him and test it out :)
Playstyle:
First of all piloting this deck requires a lot of experience with other decks. You need to know what opponent could have in their hand, and what would screw you up, or what will bring benefits for them. It is totaly a must to know it all, if you are fresh player and just getting started - it is definetaly not deck for you.
Whole idea with this deck is to counter the enemy plans with Thrawn - Master Strategist ability, removing all the cards they could use in current round(stop them to play an upgrade, or to play the removal). Also it will show the all options you can use while playing this round, also if you should use Kylo Ren - Vader's Disciple special or focus on other sides. If they do not have any removals left in their hand you can use, all you want freely and thats an awesome information, also it gives you an information if you can spend all the money to buy weapons, or if you should save some for mitigation.
Also please never forget that with Shoto Lightsaber you can not only give a shield, but also take off a shield. It changes alot.
In most scenario you want to build up a Kylo Ren - Vader's Disciple first. It will make opponent think to attack him first. When he is about to die, you try to replace all the weapons to redeploy ones. Thrawn - Master Strategist is a beast in late game with all the z6 riot batons, and other weapons. Focuses and controling their hand (to stop them from using removals) will hurt alot when you are set.
Combos:
There are not that many combos, but there are 4 cards that make your enemy scratch their head with thinking what just happened. Tactical Mastery and All In makes you unstoppable while using focuses and allows you to instantly resolve damaged, mostly lethal one. In most cases enemy want to remove your damage, not the focus dice so they mostly won't see it coming. When opponent is smart and removes ur focuses, it is still all good, you can still use tactical mastery to reroll and resolve what you have.
First Hand:
You need to have the 2 cost weapon upgrade, rest of the cards you have doesn't realy matter. However removals are always welcome.
Card that i am still not sure if i want them in deck: -Praetorian Guard - it is fine and gives Thrawn first dmg sides and allow him to guard some damage of from Kylo. -It Will All Be Mine - it awesome card, but i used it only few times, and only to resolve 1 or 2 blanks. Never was so lucky to reolve more :c
Pros:
-You know most of a time what opponent is going to do with Thrawn - Master Strategist ability. Also it removes the thing you don't want to see. And let you know what sides on Kylo Ren - Vader's Disciple are best for this round. -Focuses are nuts. It is the best side in this game. -You have lots of money because of Thrawn - Master Strategist so you can easily ramp the weapons.
Cons:
-If you are totaly unlucky and get only 1 weapon until round 3 you are screwed. -Unforunetaly there are times when Kylo Ren - Vader's Disciple dies without redeploy weapons. If you do not have any weapon on Thrawn - Master Strategist, you are also screwed. -You need to know the meta, and know most of the cards that opponent can use in their deck. You need to be the most efficient with Thrawn ability.

I'm also wondering if Vibroknifes would be better fit in place of the Praetorian Guards due to shields being prevalent, as well as having The Best Defense... |
No As I Have Foreseen? but it works so well with Thrawn!
