West Virginia Regional 1st(ish) Deck 1.0

This is the deck I piloted at the West VA Regional on 12-2. I went 5-2 in Swiss and was able to take it to the finals. Funny enough I swapped to this to get away from Sabine who I figured would be everywhere. Quite the opposite. There were 3 Sabines in the 53 man Field. And a TON of R2P2s

Round 1 - vs Palp. My opponent was 6 years old and nearly took me out. His Palp dice were hot. He killed Rey, and beat the heck out of Poe. He claimed to heal Palp up to 3 wounds, but I had a Poe die and his blaster. I ditched from hand to reroll until the Poe Special came up and killed Palp 1-0

Round 2 vs Rainbow #5 - Got Poe's Blaster Early. Sound the Alarm was clutch a few times. Took out Bala and started working the Sister. Rey died, but Poe was able to finish of Cienna. 2-0

Round 3 vs R2P2 - Mirror match is never fun. I got a Turn 1 Poe Blaster, and was able to work that into some solid early pressure. I killed his Poe before he could kill mine. Then I was able to caution and field Medic Poe away from danger. At that point the 2v1 was too much. 3-0

Round 4 vs Palp - This was a crazy fast game. I was able to keep my guys mostly alive throughout the game, his damage splits were getting my guys both low though. But I managed to keep them safe, Overconfidence his Palp Dice and then pile on the damage through a Rise Again for the win. A note, he was using Cargo Hold and pushed a Shoto off of Rey onto Poe. Awesome move. 4-0

Round 5 vs R2P2 - He got Lightbow turn 1. I got Lightbow WAY later. Its a really hard thing to fight through. Opponent said the same. He played a really strong game too, I had Poe near dead, but he used Force Illusion, Ancient Saber, and Caution to keep Poe Safe. I lost 4-1

Round 6 vs Qui Gon/Kanan - I also call this a mirror. The decks are too similar. I gunned after Qui-Gon Hard, but Rey decided that Discard sides were what I needed. His damage output really trumped mine and I think I lost before I could even kill Qui Gon. 4-2

Round 7 vs Qui Gon/Kanan - I was pretty frazzled at this point. But I tried to soldier on. Early game saw Poe and Qui-Gon both taking major shots. He killed Poe first, but I was able to kill Qui-Gon early the next turn. At that point it was Kanan who only had a Force Speed vs Rey who had a Light Bow and her Saber. It was Grindy, but my dice pool was better than his. Took a few turns, but Rey managed to get the kill. 5-3.

So I made the Cut as the 8 seed.

Elims Round 1 vs R2P2 - Game 1 went to him pretty quickly. He was running 2x Deflect and those were massive. Game 2 went to me in a pretty close match up. Both Poe's died, but mine died second. Game 3 his dice jumped off a cliff. He re-rolled Rey with a Shoto 3-4 times and rolled 0 damage sides at one point. I also got a turn 1 Lightbow on Rey and was punishing his Shields most turns. I win 2-1.

Elins Round 2 vs E-Kylo2/FN - I focused on Kylo he focused on Poe. My tankiness was a bit too much for his Burst and he missed 2 Kylo Damage calls. Kylo Died, then Poe, then FN. Game 2 was closer. Poe and Kylo died, but he didn't miss any Kylo calls. At the end he had a Virbo Knife on FN needing to re-roll into damage to get by Rey's Shields and kill her, but it was a 1/6 and he didn't get it. Next turn with FN at 1, he dropped a Rocket Launcher needing it to roll dmage to kick Rey's shields to prevent FN from dying and it came up blank. I won 2-0.

The Last round would have been a Mirror, but it was Late and we wanted to go home. I already know I wont be at Worlds or Nationals this year, so I passed on those invites and Byes for the Plaque, which I love.

A quick Note on a few of the choices. Dug in was ok. I didn't claim a ton, so it was not always useful. I think it would stay as a 1x. Misdirection was awful in some games and beaking in others. I hit FN to drop like 3-4 dice in the Elim rounds. Binds all things is ok. I could see cutting it. Medical Droids suck, I tried with them at first and just kept pitching then for re-rolls. And I never even wanted to use Docking Bay on them since Honor Guard was a much better pull.

*Note #2 - This deck is not Original. I tried to tell SWDestiny that, but I guess they want links and Im too lazy to dig one up. Its inspired by all the other R2P2 decks with a few personal choices.
