Hello darkness my old friend I've come to talk to you again.

Deck's basically poe/maz v 2.0 but slow and broken. :D Also Power creep has been extremely obvious as of late, and this deck is showing it.

We can break down the deck into 4 catagories

Pitch cards (8) Millennium Falcon Pirate Speeder Tank Mind Probe Vibrocutlass

Investment (6) Force Throw Handcrafted Light Bow Cunning

Defense (14) Force Illusion Hunker Down Second Chance Deflect Easy Pickings Hidden Motive Rejuvenate Econ (2) Reaping The Crystal While that is a low number of investment cards remember That Mind probe falcon Speeder tank and Vibrocutlass are all investment cards in a pinch.

Basic strategy We can arrange the decks Basic structure into 3 main stages Round 1, defending saw, and post saw.

Round 1 the goal is to get a single investment card into play, and deal 8-10 indirect damage,

In the defending saw phase the strategy is to simply defend saw with all the cards in the deck. The best case scenario is for saw to survive until the end of round 3, where saw gets off one final barrage before dying.

After saw dies, yoda needs 2 upgrades on him to be an effective fighter. Once you get 2 upgrades on yoda yoda himself is able to hold off the opponent, especially if those upgrades include force throw.

Given the nature of Indirect damage it is important to recognize that you will be facing off against your opponent's full power for a lot longer than the typical deck. Games will naturally take fewer rounds and therefore we structure the deck to have more temporary solutions to problems.

Why the deck is built the way it is

Every round one needs to play their entire hand out in order to get maximum effect out of saw's Special. Meanwhile due to yoda's special and Focus one has little need for discarding to reroll. This means that cards that cost 0 are at a premium in this deck for their ability to be played and provide value. Rejuvenate is a heck of a lot better than nothing and every single cheap way to defend yourself is necessary.

The other main consideration is saw pitch cards. Borrowing from Poe/maz, I decided 8 was about the right number of pitch cards to run. Unfortunately unlike poe/maz we have only 2 top tier choices. Mind probe and Vibrocutlass are 2nd tier choices, and playing scavenge isn't great due to force illusion putting a lot of pressure on the cards in our deck.

Specific card choices I would consider in the future

Remove

Hunker Down, Deflect,

Additions to consider

Caution, Friends in low places, Vandalize

Basically Hunker down was very weak for me due to all the melee running around. Deflect also is weak for similar reasons. Caution would be a superior choice on the defensive end. FILP is a useful addition for 2 reasons. 1st it removes easy pickings perhaps the most annoying card for this deck to face. The second is that with it you may be able to use saw's ability targeting the Opponent's hand which is not a thing I do often. Vandalize would stop force illusion which is one of the most annoying cards for this deck to fight against.

Love the concept. Here´s some theorycrafting that sprung to mind: have you tried Impulsive or Determination to have something free that also helpes with finding those ? I´m not sure how much money is of importance, but Double-Dealing could be a fit if so.

The major hazard seems to be when Yoda starts to play solo. It´s bad to have a suite of cards that needs to show when he comes up and another before that. Best case the cards were the same - how about playing those beefy supports when Saw goes down instead of trying to find the right upgrades? Just non-play theorycrafting mind you :)

Seems to me that Force Wave would go into this deck like a dream. Adds in some much needed directed damage as well.

The majority of the cards has a special associated with them. I pitched Hunker Down for Double-Dealing and Thermal Detonator and it works great. Also added Emperor's Throne Room - Death Star II

Would your early investment cards go on Yoda or Saw? I wanna try this one out!

@TybridSure but how would you go with force wave? It is nice that it combos with reaping the crystal but trying to make room is hard QQ.

@StephilmikeSaw if you have second chance in hand yoda if not. Saw is typically the first target since he is so scary. And yoda isn't scary by himself without quite a few upgrades.

@Rwerry76Thing is Double dealing takes 2 whole rounds before profit and the games almost never last more than 3 rounds anyway. Sometimes you get the occasional 4 rounder but generally games are really really short. Emperor's Throne Room - Death Star II is weak because the deck is VERY slow so the opponent will more likely than not be claiming the battlefield

@ScacthaDetermination unfortunately requires a focus to work, and if you have a focus available you could just double focus to special. Impulsive is a speed card in an extremely slow deck, which isn't a good combination.

I think you misread Determination. It doesn´t consume the Focus. And Impulsives Ambush addon isn´t for tempo purposes, but for escaping control.

Please Rename this deck to Soda

Questions: @Scactha can we use Determination on Saw's 3 indirect and resolve 3 specials? :) Why not? It keeps it's original value!

Scactha 888

@Vitalogy10 We can use it to resolve as , but unfortunately it wont be 3 times as Special only ever can be resolved once per die side. It basically ignores the number.
