Hi everyone, this is the deck I piloted to a top 8 finish at Total Escape Games for the Colorado Regional. The week before I was set on Aayla/2x Padawans. When Bobby Sapphire made his vlog about Rey2/Aayla I was immediately interested. The deck is brutal and in my testing does very well against Aayla/2x Padawans. I knew that Rey2/Aayla would probably have a strong showing at the Regional so I decided to sleeve it up.

Round 1: Hero Vehicles First round I was paired with a friend of mine in my playgroup. He didn't see any of his Tech Team or Rally Aid until the 2nd and 3rd rounds but was still able to down Aayla. I had Rey loaded up with Heirloom Lightsaber and a Shoto Lightsaber and was able to get there. (1-0)

Round 2: Poe2/Aayla I had not done much testing against this deck but knew it could drop weapons and ramp quickly, especially with Profitable Connection. I looked over at her dice tray and only saw Canto Bight Pistol and Poe Dameron's Blaster which I thought was odd. I was able to ramp and kill Aayla first then took out Poe shortly after. (2-0)

Round 3: Hero Mill (Rieekan/Yoda/Partisan) This game was a disaster. I had kept just a Shoto Lightsaber thinking I would get a 3 cost upgrade. Nope. He milled my Heirloom Lightsaber and Ancient Lightsaber first turn and after 2 more rounds of drawing 5 cards I saw 0 upgrades. This deck can suffer if it doesn't have upgrades which is exactly what happened and I was milled quickly. (2-1)

Round 4: Poe2/Hondo Played against another one of my friends from my playgroup. Usually if you can kill Poe before they ramp from paying off Hondo, our deck does well against it. He managed to kill Aayla turn 2 from Poe Dameron's Blaster, but I had Rey with 2 heirlooms and a shoto. Next turn I dropped Poe and just paid off Hondo and was able to get there through his mitigation. (3-1)

Round 5: Rey2/Aayla I knew I had to play the mirror at some point, but I had 0 testing games against this matchup. In the mirror, the roll-off is very important. I was able to take his battlefield, get my shield on Rey, her now having 12 health and getting that extra ping. I had a great hand and dropped It Binds All Things into Jedi Robes to have 3 shields. I then used Handcrafted Light Bow to override and I never let down after that. My dice were hot and his weren't. (4-1)

Round 6: Hero vehicles This round I played against a good player that I have seen at local store champs so I knew it wasn't going to be easy, and it wasn't. We traded hits back and forth and I was able to get Rose - Skilled Mechanic down to 2 health. He used Caution to give her 3 shields but I had Synchronicity in my hand to deal 2 unblockable. That was the real turning point but he grinded back. He used Rally Aid aid and I saw a Planned Explosion. Not good because he had 2 Resistance Bomber. I slapped Force Illusion on Rey and he used it to kill Aayla. Next round I rolled out serious damage to finish off Ezra. (5-1)

Round 7: Rey2/Aayla I faced the mirror again against a great player, Rusty himself. We knew we both made the cut but we decided to play anyway. I again won the battlefield and was able to ramp into Heirloom Lightsaber and Rey's Lightsaber and he just scooped from there. (6-1)

Top 16: Greedo/Cad This was a very quick best of 3. Cad would roll out and do his thing, but normally only topping out at around 5-6 damage where mine can put in around 10 with a 3 cost upgrade. Both games I killed Cad round 2 and he couldn't get through my shields.

Top 8: Sabine/Yoda Oh boy. The one deck I was dreading facing all day. I was paired with another one of my friends from my group and I hadn't beat his deck, ever. Sabine rolled fire and Yoda and Force Speed rolled nothing but specials. With the most busted card, Running Interference, there really wasn't anything I could do. I hate this matchup because I didn't lose based on my skill as a player, but what are you going to do. He managed to go on and win the whole tournament so I guess I can't be too mad!

Overall, this deck is extremely strong and very consistent. This deck feeds on Boba/7th but I didn't face any all day. Force Misdirection was a pretty dead card all day for that reason alone. Rey's Lightsaber is an awesome card as well and I might consider going to 2x to try and see it in my opening hand. Hope you guys enjoyed!
