Took this to the top 8 in a 57 player regional tournament. Went 5-2 in the 7 round Swiss and narrowly got in based on strength of schedule. Then knocked out by the winning brOTK deck.
Great playing with everyone, thanks for some fun dice and card playing and props to the hosts.
Here were my match-ups:
(1-0) 7th, Boba
(1-1) eAayla, Ray 1, Padawan - This went to time and I lost with one less damage done.
(2-1) Boba, Phasma
(3-1) Ahsoka, Yoda - This was my only Planned Explosion move of the day. It's so unexpected and turns lots of indirect into a character killing move when the opponent doesn't expect it and sometimes the character dies with an Ancient Lightsaber that didn't look like it needed to heal yet.
(3-2) Thrawn, Talzin - had a 50/50 die reroll for a win that Aayla missed. This deck went top 4 and a really fun match-up! Also helped my strength of schedule that Matt beat the #1 seed later.
(4-2) Ray2, Aayla
(5-2) eTalzin, eBala, FOST
---- Ended up the 8th seed in the Top 8 cut narrowly edging out Lukas.
