Store Champs: Only had 7 people show up...

Rd 1 - eMaz/Hera/Rookie Pilot - L Short Game. Maz and Ghost worked me over. He had Ghost first turn, Y-Wing second both hiting for specials each turn they were in play. 2nd turn Dodge to remove a 2R and 3R when I have no Resilient or Endurance backup hurt. Saw only High Ground for removal and never saw anything to remove that didn’t get resolved immediately. He chose to resolve two resources with Maz activation instead of killing me with three ranged, even though I pointed it out (local player that I hadn’t seen in a while), and left me a chance to Doubt the 2 ranged away only to have it come back. Three-wide is hard when I can’t get the dice to damage sides.

Rd 2 - eLuke3/eRey2 - W I opened turn 1 with double 2 discard resolution and turn 2 with Abandon All Hope. Great start that I couldn’t follow up. Short version is he never got any upgrades down and I was able to plink away at them resolving shield and discard sides.

Rd 3 - eYoda/Cassian/Anakin - L Echoes of Rd 1 with die sides. Hit my swiftness with a Cassian discard side while I had five cards and the other with Cassian’s ability. Lost the first Alter to discard side and the other to Force Meditation. I probably refilled a little too aggressively when I had no fixing, but just couldn’t get damage out.

Thoughts: A lot didn’t go right. First time, in ~25 games, I played Palp and didn’t have fun. Some my fault, some luck, but facing two three-wides that I felt had above average games against me sucked. Both opponents with the three sides did a great job of mitigating my dice when I could finally roll/modify damage.

I think I tilted a bit more then I realized after Game 1 went sideways so quickly and then my opponent didn’t even kill me. He just missed that it was lethal even after I pointed it out, but I let it feel like a personal thing to point out how badly I got beaten. I was stupid and let it color my day more then I think I realized.

At least my friend was able to defend the Store against all the invaders and take the win!
