I built this deck the night before my Store's SC. I had an idea of how I wanted it to run and I went with it. 17 Players, went 4-1 and undefeated in top cut.

Round 1 vs Jabba2/Mother - WIN I hard mulliganed for Force Speed and fast Hands so that he wouldn't be able to holocron into the force throw and remove my Cassian dice. I ended up getting a Force Speed, 2 Fast Hands and Force Heal in my opening hand and I managed to stay alive thanks to Force Heal. the funny thing is, the player I faced is a longtime mill player and we were all shocked when he showed up with non-mill today. Great player, and glad i could face him.

Round 2 vs Rose/Wedge/HG - WIN I hard mulliganed for Force Meditation in order to get vehicles in his discard so I could Flames of the Past the vehicles he managed to play. I faved him in a GQ in which he played OTK very well, but this time i managed to get inportant cards out of his deck/hand and won it.

Round 3 vs Plo/Padawans - WIN I played against a local who I never managed to beat with the deck I planned on running (Cad/Snoke). This time I was able to get upgrades into his discard pile which I then used to remove other upgrades like Vibroknife. that allowed me to play force illusion and stay alive.

Round 4 vs Thrawn/Snoke - WIN This matchup was extremely close. I made a mistake not playing Flames of the Past on his Chancecube which then allowed him to stay in the fame. In the end he made a mistake by claiming which, unfortunately for him, let me discard to to reroll both my Cassian Andor - Rebellion Operative dice 3 times to get the 1 discard side I nedded to mill his only card in his hand. I would have allowed him to take back his claim and instead pass had it not been for the fact that I had already milled the top 2 cards of my deck which couldnt be taken back since he had seen the 2 cards. He's also a local, so I'll be rubbing it in when I get the chance lol!

Round 5 Leia/Yoda - LOSS The reason I lost this matchup was because he was able to play both force speeds in the first round. Meanwhile I didn't see any of mine until the very end when they were of no use anymore. Being ahead of the game allowrd him to keep cycling Suppressive Fire with Docking Bay - Finalizer in the end he milled me out, I counted his deck and he had 6 cards left and 2 in his hand. had it not been for supressive fire and the 2 force speeds i believe i could have won this one. Either way, I played against a good mill and control player.

I finished Swiss in 1st place 2nd Leia/Yoda 3rd Ezra/Yoda/RP +LTP 4th Plo/Padawans

Top 4 vs Plo/Padawans I played my round 3 opponent. I cant't say much about this matchup since both games pretty much went the same as the round 3 matchup. He also managed to roll poorly which allowed me to stay ahead of the actions and claim. Went 2-0

Top 2 vs Ezra/Yoda/RP+LTP - WIN going into this match up I know I needed to be fast for 2 reasons: 1) The longer it went, the worse Long-Term Planlooked for me and 2) I needed to mill his vehicles so I could have options for Flames of the Past u fortunately both Fast Hands and 1 Force Speed ended up in the last 5 cards of my deck. I still managed to barely win the 1st matchup. In the 2nd match, I got 2 Scruffy Looking Nerf-Herder and 2 Friends in Low Places in my opening hand, which I used to discard the only 2 mitigation cards and 2 vehicles in his hand. I then discarded the last card and 3 more from his deck. I awlays made sure to mitigate Yoda's dice to prevent focusing and keep 1 resource before going into the next round to allow me to play Hyperspace Jump, which I did. 2-0

Overall I'm happy with the deck, although i may drop the 2nd Maz's Goggles, Clandestine Operation, and a Force Heal to play a 2nd Hyperspace Jump, and either 2 or 1 each of Rebel and Vandalize

Hi, congratulations on the win, very interested in your deck and I think most choices will be consistent across all decks for this pairing. I do have a few questions if you would indulge me.

I don’t own any Force Speeds and wondered how useful/important you found it as you stated you hard mulliganed for it a few times. Was it just to make sure you Claim and roll out first?

CharlieWonka 284

I also have Dex's Diner as an auto include. Did you consider this for the deck?

IzzyDave 51

@CharlieWonka Well although claiming is important I would say that it wasn't extremely vital since I believe I only ever got to use my battlefield once the entire tournament. Yoda's special sides and Cassian's 1 sides don't help win the roll out. The main purpose for force speed is to ramp up speed when. For example, I roll out Cassian and maybe he gets a discard side and a resource side. Being able to activate yoda and roll into the special or focus allowed me to resolve the force speed special to focus into the other discard side and resolve 2 discards and 2 off the top of the deck. Also, keep in mind, sometimes resolving cassians resource side isn't a bad decision. Especially if you have a hyperspace jump in your hand

I'm curious as to what kind of use you get out of flames of the past. I'm all in on mill right now but have never really thought of including it. Seems a little too situational and 2-cost is not appealing when there are 2-cost events that I would rather use.

IzzyDave 51

@CharlieWonka I considered Dex's diner but felt it was too slow. I'd much rather have force heal since it doesn't take an action to resolve. I can resolve yoda specials, force speed specials and force meditation specials along with it

IzzyDave 51

@jcstiggy Flames of the past is a card I would consider vital to the deck. Remember you start with 3 resources, Yoda's specials can give you resources and you can still resolve Cassians resource side to mill a card from the top of their deck. Most of your mill 2ill come from the the top of their deck and once you get a chance cube or ancient lightsaber (Anti-mill cards) in their discard you can use it to mill the one they play. Also against vehicle decks it's great to have to use on the vehicles they play. For example. In my top 2 matchup my opponent played a Crait speeder which he rolled a range on. His long term planning plot had 3 tokens on it. That would've been 5 damage, but he had a Crait speeder in his discard pile. I played Flames of the Past and discarded the Crait speeder from play. Removing the die along with it. I also did it to a vibroknife in my plo/padawans match to allow me to play force illusion

Follow up question to the Dex Diner. Did you consider Lone Operative for resolving as a special along with some cheeky discard on there. Do you think you would have had enough resources for it over Force Heal?

IzzyDave 51

@CharlieWonkachar I mean it could potentially be good but I don't like that it only heals the attached character and the 3 cost. If you get it on the opening hand it's hard to figure who you are going to attach it to until your opponent targets a character and you also have to spend your 3 resources on it. I'd rather spend the 3 resources on Maz's goggles and force heal/meditation.

@CharlieWonkaI won a SC with the character combo and I had both Dex's Diner and Lone Operative in my deck. I think it depends on the meta/preference. I'm not a big fan of force heal (yoda being the primary target most of the time).

@IzzyDaveHave you tried Imperial Palace - Coruscant? Yoda/Cass can mill fast, but the hand control is limited. I didn't even use Force Meditation in my deck, I had Ascension Gun for the hand disruption (and damage sides). Beguile is also a really strong card with mill.

IzzyDave 51

@the BEASTI haven't tried using it mostly because against the faster decks I don't want to get claimed against and lose a card like Hyperspace jump, second chance or flames of the past. I also dont like Ascension gun because of the damage sides. Like I said, I didn't like some of the builds because they dont suit my style or meta. For example a strong argument can be made for why cassian is the first target. And that's why I prefer force heal. The option of choosing who I heal is better.

the BEAST 1128

@IzzyDaveThat's a fair point. For me, the damage sides on Ascension Gun weren't that bad (I actually killed 3 characters during my SC). It can also special chain with Yoda, but I understand Force Meditation is also good. Also, why wouldn't you lose Hyperspace Jump against a faster deck? Did you only use it when you had fully milled someone and wanted to finish up the game? During testing, the only deck that could be faster than this one was Cad/Snoke. Have you considered Scrap Heap as resource generation? The card speeds the deck up because you can discard with Yoda while gaining money.

Built this today and tried it out against 4 different people:

1 Loss - Dooku2/Talzian - I lost bad, my opponent insta-killed yoda top of round 2 and cassian wasn't far behind.

2 Win- Luke3/Rey2 - Neither of my characters died. Had both force illusions and both second chances out, then just took my time.

3 Win- Solo Sabine - Got down to 3 cards left in my hand, was able to outlast Sabine's wrath and I took her down.

4 Win- Dooku2/? - no contest, took this combo down pretty easily in a few rounds.

Pretty impressive build! I like it a lot!
