I took this list to the 19-player Store Championship at Good Games Bondi Junction in Sydney, Australia and came 1st.

This was originally a follow-on from Yoda-Hondo as I really wanted to play a version of that deck where Hondo was replaced by a bit of a stronger character. I did take inspiration from Bigulf's and The Destiny Council's list, picking up the key synergy of Quick Draw and Yoda - Wizened Master, or Quick Draw, Maz's Goggles and All In.

I think one key difference is that my list plays 2-of Force Wave and I strongly believe that this card on Yoda - Wizened Master is an auto-win condition against a lot of decks at the moment.

Key difference two is making the choice not to play DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol. The heavy blaster is a great card but I wanted to keep my resources stacked for great removal and second chance (and I run the wave which I'm also trying to afford) so I wanted to stick to 2-cost weapons and in my testing, I never ran out of the combo targets (ambush weapons).

Also play Rebel! Versatility wins games. (One change I would make after the day is cutting 1 Entangle for a second Beguile, because Beguile doesn't have a spot condition.)

Report:

Round 1: Bye THANKS 1-0 no regrets.

Round 2: Yoda Cassian Anakin Mill: Win. This was a tough matchup I believe its the hardest matchup for this deck but at the end of the day if you get the wave down you probably win. Also Maz's Goggles is essential to reducing your re-rolls throughout the game to keep those cards to get the win at the end.

Round 3: Obi Maz: Loss. My mate and podcast host rekt me by rolling 9 damage turn 2. Killed Cassian and Yoda fell over.

Round 4: Aphra Ciena Guavian indirect droids: Win. I had no business winning this game as I very nearly lost to the BT-1 activation, but at the last second I saw the damage and took shields at that crucial moment. Hyperspace Jump saves lives people.

Top Cut:

Semifinals: Yoda Cassian Anakin Mill: best of three, 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, Win. Once again I truly believe this is the hardest matchup for the deck. In all three games I got the action 1 wave down which was nice. In the second game I milled aggressively (which is fine if you know you wont get the blowout damage) and probably didnt switch back to doing damage quick enough, which cost me the game. In all three games however I was using a little bit of mill to try and find second chances, force illusions, etc. In the final game I managed to mill enough cards to turn off a crucial force illusion at the end of the game.

Finals: Luke Rey: best of three, 1-0, 2-0, win. Against my girlfriend, life partner, and training partner playing a beastly Luke Skywalker - Reluctant Instructor Rey - Finding The Ways deck. Both games simply blew out in my favour. We've played this matchup like 10-15 times and I think it is actually incredibly in their favour but everything aligned for me on the day particularly the Quick Draw All In combo to do damage everywhere at once.

Overall great day, super great to win the same SC I did last year, and to take out the top 2 spots between me and the love of my life. Hope you enjoy the deck and may the combo pieces always find their way into your hand at the best time. Dest Friends Forever!

no Force Throw?

WillHope@DF 247

I think Force Throw would be great in this deck but I would sub a Force Wave out for the slot. In my local meta I couldn't give up the wave, so I didnt have a throw. In my local meta there is an abundance of 3 wide decks and a lot of players get tilted by wave as well so I think it has that value. But I do think 1 wave 1 throw would be great.

Gratz!

Question for the creator. How are you paying for the more expensive cards? Are you just hoping to roll resources?

WillHope@DF 247

Thanks @Bigulf!

@DarthVaderRocks between Profitable Connection and Yoda - Wizened Master's special side, you can make a tonne of money. And finally, if Cassian Andor - Rebellion Operative rolls double resource during round one, you just take them and still do a little chip damage with his ability.
