Book 1394

Finding a strong second to elite Poe can be trying. Alas, Finn is just a single point over to run as a one of, and playing a single Poe feels pretty underwhelming. I considered Rey, but everyone is playing Rey--and for good reason. However, I wanted to try a mono-red 30 point build with Leia. Both dole out mad ranged damage, making them a great duo!

The deck wants to play cheap upgrades to increase the odds of its range damage output. Ideally, you will use Poe abusively with Black One and Launch Bay. Further, getting one of these in play, esp. the latter, is your truest objective. Launch Bay can wipe their hand, deal assloads of damage, provide shields.

Scout also helps to apply pressure and eliminate troublesome events and reduce rerolls. It's also nice to have 6 upgrades that are entirely free with Rearm. A nice trick a pal pointed out is to play the IQA-11 Blaster Rifle, overwriting a one drop upgrade, then Rearm the same upgrade back for free.

The deck is sorely lacking in die manip and removal for your opponent. You have the Comlink so play it appropriately. Dug in and Field Medic are your ways to extend the mortality of your characters. You are racing here.

It's a Trap!, Holdout Blaster, and Hit and Run provide speed. IQA-11 Blaster Rifle gives you unblockable damage.

Upon more testing, I have opted to add Datapad and All In for speed. This also decreases the overall curve of the deck and provides a few more resource results to help push out the support cards.

Deck is fun. Try it out! I started with Leia, went to Ackbar, but out of nostalgia for the late Fisher (and better damage), I went back to Leia. Ackbar's 2 focus result is better with All In, but Leia is just a more solid option: more hp, better damage, nice ability that pairs with Launch Bay--keep your cards. I cut Logistics in the end--it was often fine, but pitching Launch Bay to Poe's special is more than okay.

I have been playing versions of this quite a bit and it has been performing very well. It's fast, consistent, and puts a nice clock on your opponent. The support cards give youa long game, but don't be afraid to pitch them to Poe's special--I had a game today were I dealt 4 with Launch Bay and 3 with Black One on my second action of the first turn of the game. And thanks for the comments!

UPDATE: Very much considering taking out All In. While it is a great card, with so little focus, it just doesn't turn out to be as impressive as, say, Luke/Ackbar. The hurdle for this deck is getting sliced up by Vader/Raider. Considering opting in Block in its place. Aim would be an aggressive option.

Also, I have since cut Scout for Logistics. We have enough dice with this build and Scout isn't contributing anything to the main plan.

Very good deck - had to pull out a Black One since it's unique.

Book 1394

@jptradehome2 you want two even though you can only have one in play. It's vital.

@jptradehome2- @Book is correct. You want the 2nd one for sure. Even if you get the first one played onto the board, you can still use the 2nd one with Poe Dameron's special. Definitely worth it if you have the card.

How about Defensive Position over Block?

Book 1394

Tried it. Far too conditional. Deck loses to Vader Raider. This is a solid solution. That is not conditional
