This deck is going to be tremendous! The Jedi carnage has to stop. I promise, this deck will NEVER fail you!

All kidding aside, if you were a fan of SWTOR, this is my take on the Guardian Focus spec, AKA Juggernaught Smash builds that were a thing early on in that game.

Pretty straight forward, just load up and roll the Padawan first, then gear up Luke Skywalker, and smash face!

Dodge is a meta card in response to all the heavy range in most metas right now.

Always remember, if you see yellow...ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS, smash that sh-t first. ESPECIALLY if they put out Cunning - that card is like space herpes to your deck.

Other than Dodge, another option is Defensive Stance or Mind Trick. Personally, I kind of hate that card, but the guys at Team Covenant seem to love it. Meh, everyone's mileage may vary on that one.

The ideal setup is to keep your Heroes alive long enough to get your All Ins to fire. Usually, with those in play, Luke Skywalker alone will be hitting for 10+ damage. The Padawan can also have a huge burst on turn one if you roll decent with either Force Throw or Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber on her.

If you make this build, please comment below with your results - thanks! Good luck.

UPDATE - 01/28/17:

This deck went 3-1 this weekend at a local tournament in Omaha, NE. The first game I lost. Of course, this being my first official tournament with the deck, I completely forgot Luke's draw mechanic (and so did my opponent). Even with missing that the whole game, it came down to Jango with 1 life and my Padawan with 3 shields and 2 life left, and he with his 2 Backup Muscle out, he punched through her three shields for the win.

In the next 3 matches (and not forgetting Luke's draw mechanic this time), I went undefeated against Vader/Raider, Finn/Poe (Hyperloop), and Qui-Gon/Rey.

Changes after the tournament are swapping x2 Dodge with x2 Close Quarters Assault, and x2 Rey's Staff with x2 Holdout Blaster. I realize those might be kind of controversial changes, but I found Rey's staff was under performing for me in this particular spec. I seemed to have enough mitigation and whenever I had a Dodge, I wish I had the ability to discard cards from my opponent. The Holdout blaster I think will synergize with my other range, or with all my focus in this deck (as well as a usually large bankroll of resources), I can just focus it to the higher damage side and pay for it. Again, with all the focus and All In, this spec was one-shotting almost (if not completely) 2 characters at once. The Vader/Raider in particular, in like turn 3 or 4, one massive focus with All In and it wiped the Raider and left Vader with 2 health.

Loading up the Padawan with One with The Force and Lightsaber makes her too big of a threat to not kill, but then it all gets recycled and makes Luke even more ridiculous. Triple saber and a One with The Force is admittedly silly.

UPDATE - 02/03/17:

I ran a few matches of testing whether the 'turn' economy of switching the Padawan with Rey would improve the over-all performance of this deck.

My initial impression before testing was - no way - was Rey going to be as solid as the Padawan. My original thoughts about the quality and consistency of the Padawan die, combined with its ability to play an upgrade for 1 point less (when she is unequipped), DEFINITELY held true.

The momentum you get from loading a Lightsaber, Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber, or Force Throw on turn 1 is just too much for Rey to ever catch up, no matter how many extra turns you net later in the game. Ultimately, by the time Rey 'may' catch up to the quality and consistency of the Padawan, the game with the Padawan is usually over and won.

I found that even with other build tweaks, including Rey actually made this deck run slower and less consistent. I still think Rey's ability is strong, but her die is so bad, that tempo suffers. Adding things like Awakening, while it 'could' help fix her die, just kind of defeated the purpose of getting a free action out of Rey.

After testing, I did go back to pulling the Holdout Blaster for Rey's Staff again. I also swapped The Power of the Force with Defensive Stance. I tend to play for getting One with The Force on the Padawan as soon as possible, so when she dies, I can use it as a support, and if I am lucky, also have a copy on Luke. The Defensive Stances help keep her alive just long enough to make it work. If they focus fire Luke, the Padawan is usually loaded up with enough gear to one-shot about anything on her own, so it can really go either way.

One additional note, Dodge, Close Quarters Assault, The Power of the Force, and Defensive Stance are the cards mostly likely considered for tweaking based on the local meta. Mind Trick and Anticipate can also be a consideration. As far as playing the deck, it's pretty straight forward, but ultimately, it's always so tempting to just load up equipment as fast a possible, that there are definitely some key points during the course of a given turn to hold off on loading up that second lightsaber or force throw, and keep your resources for your dice-control cards. I hate to admit it, the games I have lost with this deck were because I was simply being too greedy and not patient enough.
