This is a budget aggro deck for an aquintance, rebecca

Overall Gameplay Style - as fast as possible, equipgrevious with hurty weapons and upgrades. Roll him out and do damage. Use dooku, when and where possible, to protect grevious. Use shields to protect grevious. use dice removal/manipulation to protect grevious. Use focus sides to optimize damage. Claim early to resolve a special affect for bonus damage, control, or resolving holocron's special to get upgrades in.

Battlefield - allows you to claim and use mind probe, force throw, Kylo Saber, Light Saber, or holocron specials.

1 - Commanding presence: because Grevious Dice, OR Promotion dice (use it to boost a focus side to 3 focus, or 3 shields

2x - Force Throw: damage and control

2x - Force Training: focus is great, special is great, use it to ramp up into mind probe or force throw, or a saber

1x - Hidden in shadow: goes on Grevious, but if Dooku has Personal Escort this goes on Dooku.

2x - Immobolize: great control, also don't be afraid to resolve the shield sides to keep Grevious Alive

1x - Kylo Saber: dope ass damage

2x - Lightsabers: dope ass damage. always on grevious, when he does, it goes to Dooku

1x - Mind Probe: dope ass damage. Never hardcast, always ramp into this or only equip it from a holocron special

1x - Personal Escort: put this on Dooku to protect grevious

2x - Promotion: underrated card. 1 cost gets you 1 focus side, +1 melee, maybe a shield or resource and you draw a card. Digging through your deck is always good

2x - Sith Holocron: get all those blue abilities in for free, or use the focus side!

Event: 1 - All In: there's plenty of focus in this deck, this card is easy to play

2x - Dug In: you should be claiming as often as possible, which means you get to use this card and get 3 shields to protect Grevious with

2x Enrage - Get resources for the pricey upgrades

2x Feel Your Anger - amazing removal. even better with immobilize blanking out enemy dice

1x intimidate - remove their pesky shields so you can wreck face

2x Isolation - protect grevious!

1x No Mercy - an amazing finisher card. Grevious or Dooku roll 2 damage, you chuck a few cards to play this and easily do 6 damage.

1x Tactical Mastery - roll out grevious and execute damage dice without being interrupted

1x Power of the FOrce - late game play card with a lot of flexibility. increase damage on a dice, increase focus value and turn other dice. increase discard value and empty their hand so they can't reroll. Increase shields.. etc

How do you define "budget"?

semisonick 8

the most expensive card here probably Kylos saber, which my friend already has. i also did not include force choke. My friend owns most of the upgrades and most of the events (or at least 1 of them). so it's fairly budget friendly from her perspective. this was published for her to view.

That makes more sense if she already has the cards. Kylo's Saber, Force Throw, Mind Probe, Sith Holocron, and Grevious x2 are relatively costly if you don't already own them. Just so new players understand this isn't a budget deck for them.

Like the deck! Been trying out ways to make this character combo work as well. Even though I love the card, I stopped including Commanding Presence because at one it always seems Grievous goes down before I can utilize it and even with replacing into it I'd much rather drop a Lightsaber on him to be used on Dooku later. But I suppose if you ramp into it early it can be swapped for a "free" saber later. Maybe drop it for another Hidden In Shadow since both characters can use it and shields in this deck are valuable? Also on the fence with the Promotions. Good if drawn early but reroll/Dooku fodder when Grievous is out. Really like the card but maybe can be replaced with Datapad for more resources or Sith Holocron specials? Been tinkering with Emperor's Favor in my build. It's not a bad early card because it can get you closer to some needed 1 offs and even in late game it gives you that extra card for Dooku effect fodder and rerolls. Like the deck overall. Interested to hear how it plays the way it's built now and what changes you make over time.

Promotions aren't wonderful, you're right, but they are a more solid choice over datapad. That being said, i try to shoot for 15 dice in a deck almost always and promotion was a better option of the remaining upgrades available (god i wish we had a red melee weapon!) Promotion has a focus (goes well with the other focus, and All In), a shield side (not amazing, but for grevious, helpful along with shields on other dice etc), and a +melee side that is easy to resolve in this deck. I also look at it as an opening hand/early starter upgrade which is useful off the bat, and then allows for ramping easily in round 2, 3, or 4. Remember that the little upgrades are investiments for future upgrades and since Grevious is so squishy we want to throw upgrades on him as fast as humanely possible so he can swing hard as fast as possible.

@semisonick Totally agree. I try to put Promotions in almost any deck I'm running Reds. Solid dice and effect for cheap. Hopefully next set will have some red melee to give Grievous more kick. And cheap too, don't want just a red Flame Thrower, maybe a red Gaffi Stick. My suggestions were probably more focused on the end game when Dooku will be the last guy standing. Datapad came to mind as a sub just for the fact that it sucks to have Grievous roll two 3/1 sides and not have the resources to pay for them. Plus it could possibly payoff to fund No Mercy and be able to resolve one of his 3/1 die. But like I said, would love to hear how this deck performs as is and what changes you make for improvements.
