Battle on Takodana

**

This is a fun but competitive deck. Piloted properly it beats the top meta decks consistently, as any other tier 2 deck and make the top 4 cut. Use it if you want to try something new or something not broken.

Battlefield: Rebel War Room - Yavin IV. You won't be claiming that much but sometimes it will help you dish out some damage otherwise you couldn't afford to pay. Also, it's kinda neutral, so it won't benefit the top meta decks that much.

Characters: First Order Stormtrooper, Kylo Ren - Vader's Disciple, FN-2199 - Loyal Trooper

You have 4 dice and 29 health points. First Order Stormtrooper is your cannon fodder. Also, its dice are not that bad. 3 damage sides and one resource side are all that you want. Keep discarding and rerolling until you get something useful. FN-2199 - Loyal Trooper is a decoy character. It has the Guardian keyword hidden on it, because as soon as you opponent sees him, he will focus him down. Use his ability to deal 3-4 extra damage during the game. Kylo Ren - Vader's Disciple provides the dice we need with damage and resources. Use his special wisely. If you noticed the opponent is discarding his high-costed cards, reroll for 1 or 2 damage.

Upgrade Package: 2x Lightsaber, 1x Makashi Training, 1x Rocket Launcher, 1x Vibroknife, 2x Z6 Riot Control Baton

As you may have already noticed, besides this is a FN-2199 - Loyal Trooper deck, we don't use a lot of weapons. We focus one melee and redeploy ones.

The main reason for Lightsaber is for redeploy. It also provides damage and resources. It is 3 costed so won't be removed by Imperial Inspection and may be replaced by Z6 Riot Control Baton, the main weapon of this deck.

Makashi Training and Vibroknife are techs and flex spots. They are 2-costed and may help you build up a 3 cost upgrade. Makashi Training synergizes with all the melee damage you're providing and may be used as another control element. Probably it won't stay in the game for more then one round. Vibroknife is a tech against Han/Rey and Qui-gonn/Rey. As Makashi Training, it helps to build up a better upgrade.

Rocket Launcher it's a costly one. We use only one because we can't afford to pay one resource every turn. It's her for a bit burst damage during one or two turns.

Z6 Riot Control Baton it's the star weapon of this deck. You want one of them in play as quick as possible. Remembers to use its passive ability and reroll for better results. If you get a blank on the second roll, roll First Order Stormtrooper before discarding to reroll.

Resource Package: 2x Imperial War Machine, 2x Enrage, 2x Logistics, 2x Collateral Damage

This deck requires resources for playing weapons on FN-2199. Besides that, all characters plus Z6 Riot Control Baton, Rocket Launcher and Lightsaber have damage sides that requires payment.

Imperial War Machine synergizes with Z6 Riot Control Baton, Rocket Launcher, First Order Stormtrooper and FN-2199 - Loyal Trooper.

Kylo Ren - Vader's Disciple probably will be your less damaged character in the game, so using Enrage will help you get resources without leaving you in a dangerous position. It also may be used to cause the last damage on FN-2199 - Loyal Trooper and move all redeploy weapons to First Order Stormtrooper if your opponent have already claimed and you still may activate the trooper.

Logistics synergizes with the possible 4 resource sides you may roll each round. Lightsaber and Z6 Riot Control Baton may also provide resource sides to combine with this card.

Colateral Damage helps to inflict some resource reduction to your opponent, trying to keep equal conditions of scarcity. For zero cost, 1 damage and 1 resource loss is very valuable.

Control Package: 2x Deflect, 2x Doubt, 2x Feel Your Anger, 2x Isolation, 2x Overconfidence, 2x The Best Defense...

As you see, we have a lot of control events in this deck. This may seem contradictory with FN-2199 - Loyal Trooper, but looking through Zach Bunn philosophy, you have to compare the cost of upgrades with events. Since this Deck does not have easy resource generation, like Unkar's version, using events to control opponent dice may just delay the game long enough to cause a lot of damage. Control Poe's dice, control Palpatine's dice, control Vader's dice. Mitigate damage from opponent's FN upgrades. Most of these events cost 1 resource, so you have at least another free resource to spend with damage dice that have a cost or to stock to deploy an upgrade next turn.

Deflect is the best event against ranged damage. Awesome against Palpatine or other aggro decks focused on range damage.

Doubt should be used on any die with more than one blank side or if to get rid of a vibroknife die and use any shields that you've got from loosing the battlefield roll or with the lightsaber. Every single damage matters.

Feel Your Anger is you late game card. If the game gets too much long or if you're facing a must control deck like Poe/Maz or Palpatine, keep it in your opening hand, otherwise mulligan it. At the late game more dice will be rolled and bigger is the chance to use it against 2 or more blanks. You may use one of these like a flex spot, trading for Flank or a tech card that fits your meta.

Isolation is the best character control event. Once again, use it against Poe, Vader, Palpatine and even Unkar's 2 sides.

Overconfidence must be focused on the two best opponent rolls, making you get rid of one of them and possibly lowering the effect of the other.

The Best Defense...'s damage must be dealt on First Order Stormtrooper, allowing you to make the opponent loose a round.

Other cards: 2x Probe, 1x Lightsaber Throw, Flank, Boundless Ambition

Probe is here to help ensure you best damage dice to hit, not being rmoved, and it also synergizes with Kylo Ren - Vader's Disciple's special ability. Use it wisely. Wait the opponent drop any upgrades, wait for you Kylo Ren - Vader's Disciple roll.

Lightsaber Throw it's a finisher. Since we have mixed color cards and can't use No Mercy, use it as a surprese effect to finish a character.

Why not Flank? We have 3 characters, but one of them are getting down too fast. If you like, you can switch a Feel Your Anger and one Isolation for Flanks, but I just didn't found out that to be very effective.

You're using blue, why not Boundless Ambition? It's simple: you don't have a resource to spare and your deck is filled with events, not weapons.

Hope you like it! Enjoy!
