This is the deck I took to the North American Championship along with two cash prize events at Gen Con 2017. The list is mostly the same as the one I used at the Artificery 90 man SC a week earlier. Phasma and the guardian ability have been a favorite of mine since I played it mostly through awakenings and piloted the Phasma/Bala/Trooper deck to 2nd place at worlds.
My losses for the weekend at Gen Con were to Poe / Maz, Rainbow FN, and Funkar.
Matchup wise I think vs Poe / Maz might be the easiest of the 3 assuming they don't play out a retreat round one or two. Funkar can be very brutal with inspection and the ability to just get off a lot of damage. Rainbow FN is still a very rough matchup because unless you can prevent them from gaining resources on round 1 it is very hard to outpace their damage.
Palpatine, Vader/X, and Emo kids are among the easier matchups. Early holocrons into big abilities are the only real way you should be at a disadvantage and vs emo kids it might be worth killing kylo first if that happens.
The only big deck choices I would say is to have both sabotage, running a single jetpack and aftermath, and only a single best defense. Sabotage is great vs Poe/Maz for planetary uprising, it can help keep imperial inspection off the table, and even with the recent addition of aftermath in rainbow FN can be very helpful. Adding aftermath myself I found was better than running logistics or fair trade for money making in the long term of a game. Only running 1 best defense as the only matchup it is super great in is Poe/Maz and Palpatine. Vs Palpatine you probably dont really need more than 1 that bad either. It is really awful vs the FN decks though and preserving your life total / making them spend resources on their paid damage sides is important.
I won't really go into the strategy or my matches in this writup but feel free to comment and I can try to answer any questions.

Great deck man. I've been running something very similar for a while now except that I run 2x Rocket Launcher instead of Z6 Riot Control Baton. Do you just like the consistency with the re-rolls with Z6 Riot Control Baton, or is it the redeploy that gives it the edge over Rocket Launcher? |
Great job and write up! I play this team also but i feel my matchup with Poe/Maz is my worst not easiest. What do i need to do different? |

Very similar to my deck list. Sabotage is an awesome tech. Personally, I like to run 2x The Best Defense for those situations in which I win the battlefield roll-off and choose theirs, then put both shields on Stormtrooper and remove two of their Big Guy dice for only one health loss to trooper. I also cut Jetpack entirely, and instead run 1x Rocket Launcher for those Imp Discipline into 4-damage plays. Quick question- what do you think of Collateral Damage as a tech card against FN/damage dice that cost resources? |

My list is unbelievably similar to this. I toss a Jetpack for a second Best Defense, though. That and I've been using Probe in place of Friends in Low Places lately since most people don't see it coming and I have a tendency to grab really important cards that FILP would miss (Rise Again, for example) |

Watched your championship match right about when i started playing swd. big fan, been playing phasma ever since(with lots of terrible versions haha) but this deck seems to be the way to go. Exciting to hear from you, it'd be cool to hear if you had any tricks up for sleeves against meta decks. |
I don't ever seem to get much value from Aftermath, I've been running Logistics in its place. I also pitched the Jetpack for another copy of Best Defense (which is also great against Vader. I do really like the idea of Lying in Wait, because boundless ambition is a big part of the loval meta with Vader/Guard and FN/Rainbow as the decks to beat. I ran two sabotages the last store monthly, and only got a chance to use it once on a Planetary uprising. |
Would you put the new #Phasma's Blaster (From the new 2-player kit) over Z6 Riot Control Baton? It has 1r, 2r, 3r for 1, +3r, 1 resource and a blank. It reads "While this upgrade is attached to Phasma to Captain Phasma, it has the redeploy keyword. |
I really like this deck ! Againt Rainbow FN, do you think it could be worth to have something like Lying in Wait on the deck to discard the choke hand if they use Boundless Ambition. Do you think Bait and Switch si an auto include or it si possible to keep only one ? Thanks !
