Took this to a store champs that i was expecting heavy Cad and hero blue match ups.

ended up losing again to our national champion who was playing R2P2 in round 5 for the 3-1 win and in but i was really happy with how the deck performs.

It has some mental all ins with 3 of my matches being decided by that 19 Damage to Tarkin 7th 16 Damage to Rose Jedhas 13 damage to Dooku2 Talzin

If i was going to cut stuff it would likely be New Orders which didnt get my play since yoda tended to just resolve my specials anyway.

The weakness of the deck is it tends to need both characters alive. Rex doesn't have the resource generation so you need to be way head if yoda dies and Yoda has trouble closing out games if rex goes down as evidenced by my inability to kill a 4 health pryce in round 2 (she had double force throw and just threw my damage upgrades back at me 3 rounds straight)

It has great cad match ups however as Illusion and Suppresive fire do work there and explosive game ending plays when you string together Rex Pistol Hit and run and then all in.

Seems sad that your "national champion" still plays hid net decked R2-P2 deck.

@Fathercheese We actually work on decks together and test everything (same before regionals which i won by knocking him out in the last round of swiss in a similar way) and came to the conclusion that Blue/Red Hero was best for our meta, so the R2P2 deck wasn't net decked it was tuned for our specific meta.

But in saying that there is no issue with net decking, the id prefer to play people at their best not when they are handicapping themselves. I believed this deck had a good shot which was why I played it but he was more comfortable with the R2P2 Style and Rey2 in particular which is why he went that way.

@FathercheeseI'm not quite sure what your expectations are for competitive play or for competitive players here. The R2P2 player read the local meta going into the event, drew upon his understanding both of the game and of the decks he has built and played over the years and decided upon the strongest matchup based on what he thought he would face up against. Isn't that just smart competitive play?

Regarding net decking, I don't believe shutting yourself off from the style, concept and processes of others because you consider it "net decking" to be a healthy way to progress in the game.

@Fathercheese scrub mentality will only hold you back. I won with r2p2 and the deck was tweaked specifically for this tournament. The players i paired against were not bothered I read the meta and chose a deck with good matchups. Thats no to say 'netdecking' is out of the question. Ill go looking for one of your published lists next and give it a run ;)

I dunno, it sounds likely this filthy netdecker really is keeping down the innovative decks of the local community. Cast him out into the desert I say so that I can play my Darksaber brews in peace. Anyone who plays CadSnoke can go with him!

I wish you could GIF on here. I'd throw the Picard facepalm at those concerned about net-decking. Go look at any stats about the current meta. R2P2 is BARELY represented. While it's still a strong deck, it's not really top right now. Bringing it with specific tech choices is a great move, and hardly inspired by the "net." That said, I love me some net-decking. The idea that you can essentially think tank with a larger community of people is pretty cool.

Totally gonna netdeck this for next store champs, don't hate me Des. I'm a scrub that can't deck build though.

@ordinaryjedi

This deck is probably up your alley to be honest. Give it a go with my blessings :)
