This deck is super fun. It can beat palpetine, Luke/Rey, and unkar decks. This won't be a tournament winner, but it's a competitive and fun deck. I have such a great time playing it and it really makes you think about situations and what to play. The battlefield choice is because you will almost never claim first and you don't want to give them anything special. I also generally take the shields instead of going first as well. Have fun.

@dabbito, you can do either! I've won with planned explosion and without it! I generally get Overkill or launcher out fast, resources are never a problem. And with the hired guns you're doing enough damage to one shot characters! If planned explosion works out, use that too. With a 3 side on each hired gun, a 2 focus a 1 resource on Mon, you just need the weapon to not blank! Most people don't expect it because you always have resources with this deck and the low amount of dice throw them off. I just played tonight against another Unkar, 9s , trooper, I made a huge mistake and ended up losing after they played endless ranks. Without the major mistake it was going to be a another wipe for them. That's what I get for talking to friends while playing! |
Thanks for sharing your fun competitive deck. Is the strategy to hold the opponent off long enough to make a total of 10 for a Planned Explosion, or do you threaten an early kill with a paid Bowcaster or Rocket Launcher side with Overkill off a 2x focus.
In trying to make planned explosion work, I found that it needs to catch an opponent by supprise, so the second time you fire it would be good to have Never Tell Me The Odds and Infamous to rush out 10 from a tooled up Hired Gun.
