My list is the same except im not playing as i have forseen really not a fan of the card

@SillyJedi yeah I think I am pulling it going forward as popular lists get solidified. It was really included as I was not confident in what to call because decklists vary so much with a new set out. There were also a few times when I held onto it and waited to activate Kylo until they had 1 or two cards in hand and could guarantee the two damage.

How were Ancient Lightsabers? Did they live up to the hype?

@DaLejund I liked them a lot. 2 drops in general are good in this deck for their potential for getting you resources and ramping into 3 drops, but the ancient saber is extra nice when you get that +3 side.

@psutton1012 do you feel like you might try to add more mitigation? Or is what you have all you need?

I went 4:0 yesterday with very similar list, I just do not have any EaW cards yet. I can see the power of Ancient Lightsaber, Imperial HQ and Rend here. I would rather play Imperial War Machine over Prepare for War. As I Have Forseen is IMO bad her, I have Trust Your Instincts instead. And I favour Pretorian Guard over Electrostaff as it prolongs the lifetime of your duo. The Best Defense is IMO better than isolation. The key for this deck is to fit your deck with 0 cost events and resource generation. Anyway, I feel this is new T1 deck and quite a lot of fun to play.

@Khali_HillI think it all depends on the meta. Right now with Cad and Sabine and Thrawnkar there aren't a lot of opportunities to use mitigation. If anything I'd put in another force illusion which is better mitigation because you can get it down before they action cheat damage out.

@Hennessy Yeah, I wasn't super impressed with prepare for war, i'd prob put back in another enrage or play IWM as well. I did think AIHF overperformed both in giving me information on their hand and helping to guarantee 2 damage from kylo if i waited to activate until they had 1 or 2 cards in hand. Also, with a new set out it's harder to be confident in colors you are calling since decklists are all over the place right now. I think it probably gets cut though as decklists become more solidified. I'm not a fan of best defense though, I think there is too much burst damage right now to be doing 3 damage to FN, even if you take out two big hitting dice. It feels too much like you are just delaying the inevitable at that point.

This char combo is doing very well right now.

I came up with my own similar char combo myself, but went way different on the card selection vs this deck and the other one.

All of my weapons are full melee 2 drops. Electostaff is the MVP of the deck, I mulligan for it. All the rest of the cards are all 0-drop mitigation cards (I never have any money). The only cost-cards a couple I run for life/healing.

Since you have lots of 2 drop weapons, I would suggest dropping some of those other cost cards that gain money, and just plan to play the 3-drop weapons as overrides. It will make the deck more lean and faster playing, plus you have no need for resources once you change to that play style and it's quite freeing to still dominate a tournament with no resources the whole game.

With the decks that you can't do much mitigation on, just use that opportunity to keep discarding for maximum burst damage each round. If you can mitigate enough, you can burst damage those other strong combos dead. Look at the mitigation combos that don't deal with damage removal, but instead just die manipulation. Manipulate, Trench Warfare, Your Skills are Complete, etc all let you do anything to a die regardless if its damage or not, helping with all those special or high mill/disrupt sides some of the other strong decks have that aren't damage decks.

I have theorycrafted my decklist to death LOL (Emo Traitor Fast Aggro is the name of mine).

Good to see other combos like this doing strong! I'm 11-3 with my version so far with both a 1st and 2nd place tournament win with that combo, and some casual play on it as well.

I think this combo will quickly become top meta soon.

How much did you use Imperial HQ? With the speed of this deck it hasn't proven that great for me as the round you play it only breaks even (and is really a negative, due to the loss of a card and tempo), on two rounds it nets you a dollar and really only shines on three or more rounds of use. Happy to be persuaded otherwise.

IWM is tempting but so few red dice....

psutton1012 109

@globetrottingIt's really not all that fast of a deck, especially not when up against Cad or Sabine. I think if you get it early and put it down it can pay off pretty easily. It is a little clunky at times and takes some getting use to though, i agree with that.

Imperial HQ helps vs. disrupt. Not sure it's "amazing" but I did find it helpful.
