Poe/Hondo top 8 regional Gdańsk (PL), Swiss Winner 2.0

This was my first bigger tournament with 32 people on it. Here is a little report. I was shocked about winning Swiss(5-1) but I am playing it non stop for 2 months.Lost Lost sadly in top 8 but I am not mad bout it. Look the deck description and card choices in the one I inspired it from ;)

1st round vs ePalpatine (Win)

Controlling his resources was necessary. No character died, He needed two more turns to kill me cuz of Second Chance

2nd round vs eYoda/eHondo (Win) (future winner)

I don't want to say it but that was probably the second easiest win in the tournament. Yoda was dead in second turn and with C-3PO and Hondo Ohnaka - Respected Businessman i could easily pay him even with cunning still with resource control to not be suprised by any Second Chance or something. He is the future winner. Hes was 6th or 7th after Swiss and he made it to the top 8 thanks to my overall win is Swiss because he ended 4-2 and 4 people had the same score and didn't make it cuz they weren't playing with people on higher positions. After mine and my friend loss in top 8 I really wished him winning all the tournament.

3rd round vs e7thSister/Ciena/guavian (WIN) {against Poland Championship's Winner!}

It was the easiest one for me. He killed his own Guavian Enforcer from The Price of Failure when Seventh Sister - Agile Inquisitor had just ONE ID9 Seeker Droid on her and nothing else with no chance to kill any of my characters. Two copies of Double-Dealing , C-3PO and Y-Wing made a great work. From the start I was taking dmg on Hondo and after Guavian death i played Second Chance and combo Partnership on Hondo and C-3po and Hit and Run finish off the sister leaving poor naked Ciena Ree - Adept Pilot with one die.

4th round vs ePoe/eHondo (WIN)

First mirror matchup. It was close game. Oponent was playing version with Canto Bight Pistol and Cunning. Still my less aggressive version manage to won thanks to the Diversion in last round taking him 3 resource of and he had nothing to play Partnership for. The guy made it to top 4.

5th round vs eSabine/Yoda (WIN)

Yoda with 2 force speed's was really making plays giving Sabine Wren - Explosives Expert 4 actions to activate. I am not sure not but I probalby killed yoda first and then end job with Poe Dameron - More Than A Pilot AND Y-Wing. Now I was sure that I will be in the top 8 with a really good score.

6th round vs ePoe/eHondo (LOSS)

2nd mirror matchup. Nothing to say. My rolls won him game. Having a Poe Dameron - More Than A Pilot and both of my characters with Double-Dealing in play and do not take a resource from it for 4 TURNS. Enemy Hondo could do nothing but did too much. I still was on the top of all players but now I regret it.

TOP 8 My Last round

In top 8 were 3 player I've already beaten. My friend against who I had a big chance to win cuz I have already done it, Portland Pondo (which made it to the finals and lost horrendously with Yoda/Poe against I had no problem with xD), A Guy I lost against in Swiss round 6 and him. The last guy who made it to top 8 with 4-2 score was eSabine/eEzra

Ok so lets make it quick. Poe on 7th health Hondo full hp. Oponent has Maz's Vault and It was a typical hard counter of Hondo. Well-Connected, Truce, Hyperspace Jump etc. Imagine having combo on ur hand which can kill Sabine and then it happens. Combo using Never Tell Me The Odds and Running Interference and u can't play a card from hand so mitigation is useless as hell and dmg on his dices were from 12-14. It happened 3 times : 2 in the first game, 1 in second making it two quick wins in 35 mins. In top 4 he lost to Portland Hondo Poe cuz of not having that combo in hand. On the second table. On the second table the match between a guy from my 2 and 4 turn of swiss where I beat them both. I was a little angry cuz all other parring in top 8 i would take in blind. Didn't expect this in top but It happened.

Summary : Overall I am very happy. This was my first big tournament. I was not even playing on store champs. I've got a great playmate and finally acrylic resource and dmg tokens xD I tried my best. I beat my national winner and our first regional winner and I am really proud of it. I trully play this deck from the legacies start. I knew it was good but not as good as it is right now. In top 8 here there were 4 Poe/Hondo. Looking on other deck i figured out some great cards for Poe/Hondo which I probably stil won't use or I will just try them : Impulsive - little All In which I prefer more Well-Connected - in this one better that Truce by a mile Defensive Position - good removal but my deck can be slow without speed ups Canto Bight Pistol - good but I think it is unfair that Dark Side is hitting in the face from that kind of think and cost 3 *Cunning - everybody tell me it's good. U must play it etc. I don't say that it's not good. That card just doesn't speak to me. sometimes u need to focus from Poe special to that cunning special i prefer using it on c-3PO or his blaster and try to do as small amount of discard to reroll as I can. I think it is must have card in Yoda/Hondo deck. In Poe/Hondo it's great but not neccessary which I think I proved going to the top through great decks and great players.
