I've been wanting to try out A-Wings since they first came out! They have such a spicy ability that's like upgraded fast hands for your vehicles! Especially when combined with any kind of focus or reroll mod like BB-8 or the Arc Caster.
Get a TLT and BB-8 on an A-Wing and then drop Arc Caster on it to roll out four dice and then reroll and then resolve in the order of your choice. Focus to the side you need with BB-8 or take money to pay a pay side. The surprise damage is really amazing.
The other thing I've enjoyed in this deck is the new Maz Kanata - Canny Negotiator. Her PA takes some getting used to, but she's a really fun and pretty decent support character.
The deck has a few weird things in it. Padme's ship could probably go but it's not bad to AR it out. Same with the LAAT. Rex is a nice 14 pt character with damage sides and dice that can be Measure for Measure'd if need be. Same with Conscript Squad. I think there probably could be a good version of this deck with Padme instead and throw out the LAAT but I went with troopers cause I like them. An extra N-1 and Arc Caster could be good includes. Battlefield could maybe better too but I just threw in a solid choice. Mitigation is solid at 12 cards (incl healing/shield/supp) and you get 4 resource generation cards.
Finally, as you are modding up a 2 cost ship, watch out for Vandalize. That can ruin your day. Could be worth running two Scruffy Looking Nerf-Herder to dodge it. I think that card alone keeps A-Wings from ever being super competitive. They are still fun though!
