Rugmouse 68

This is a deck I built based on discussion from the Knights of Ren Podcast, with a few tweaks given my card pool. The idea of this deck is spread enemy damage across your characters (Guardian/The Best Defense...) to keep your unique characters upright, then slamming them with , 2, and ideally Bala-Tik's special. I was quite happy with how it played in a limited session I had against an aggro eVeers/eJango deck.

Early game:

I try to draw a Datapad so I can put it on Captain Phasma to start some resource generation. There are quite a few expensive cards in this deck (Crime Lord,Prized Possession,Endless Ranks), so starting a resource engine early gives you more flexibility for your subsequent draws.

Damage mitigation is the name of the game to start out. I like to get some low cost control events such as He Doesn't Like You, The Best Defense..., or Disarm in case your opponent rolls some decent early damage while we're ramping up. Take advantage of Guardian to keep your unique heroes healthy and you should do well (Hunker Down helps with Guardian First Order Stormtrooper survivability).

I'm not too concerned about dealing damage early on, so I'll save damage upgrades for later. That said, we have 3 sides at the start of the match, so this deck has quite a bit of consistent punch straight away.

Mid/Late game:

Once you have the resources, this deck can ramp up the damage in a hurry. All of your characters have at least 1 2 side on them (some are modified) and dropping Jetpack, Holdout Blaster, and F-11D Rifle on Bala-Tik turns him into a real monster. Commanding Presence on Captain Phasma gives you a 33% chance of turning a 2 into 4 just like that. If you have a high cost card in your hand, you can even hit bump a into a 3 to get that card into play. Love this card! Once you start decking out Bala-Tik he's going to have a HUGE target on his back (if he didn't already), which is why I try to outfit him with redeploy weapons. I don't want to lose everything once he meets his inevitable demise.

Crime Lord is here to leverage our plentiful sides and will rarely actually be attached to Bala-Tik. Playing Ace in the Hole allows us to get the die out for free, and should we roll a special we can outright kill one of our opponent's characters for just 5. I'd only try this if you have a showing in case you don't hit the .

Prized Possession can prove devastating if you're up against heavy aggro characters - I'm actually considering dropping Crime Lord for a second copy of this one. A lot of things have to go right for the aforementioned combo. This is much more consistent.

As mentioned, this has not gone through much testing at all, but I really enjoyed the playstyle. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to get some thoughts on this build.
