The deck is versatile. The purpose is obviously do as much damage with qui gons shield ability. But if they try to focus qui gon all the shield will make it hard to focus him down while your hired gun and rebel trooper are loading up guns and doing a ton of damage and if they leave qui gon alone then his shield damage is going to be insane.
