Rey of Luke - SoR Update

Plans for testing this deck and taking it through iterations until SoR release. I like the idea of Rey and Luke - abusing Rey's power to allow Luke to rollout before the opponent can respond seems super powerful to me, a la ReyPoe. With the addition of Force Speed and Vibroknife, the tricks can be endless.

Theories and Assumptions

Vibroknife is going to be a Major Key. Rolling it out first will make it a pure target, and since it is likely to be on Rey, rolling her out first will be most likely your go to play to start the round, if you mulligan for it. Then if the opponent has no removal answer, so much the better. Add in Force Speed to get Luke's dice into play and there's some disgusting shenanigans waiting to be unleashed.

The Dream Turn

Force Speed on Rey > VIbroknife > roll out Rey > land special on Force Speed, take it > roll out Luke > roll a grand slam, resolve it.

That play alone is the reason I made this deck. I know this can be done with Poe and other partners with Rey, but mono blue (and Luke) is something I want to work for hero.

Inclusions

Was talking with a friend today, and I believe the meta will shift from 2x Dodge, 2x Deflect base removal to 1x Dodge, 1x Block + more all purpose removal (for Force decks). Sure, Red and Yellow Villain has it easy, as they have more universal answers, but Force users need to be more creative.

I LOVE CAUTION. If you don't think this card is going to cause problems, then I don't know what to tell you. So many times I stare at Rey's modified resource side, which could be THREE SHIELDS now. Wowiezawa. I'm so looking forward to this being a staple of my blue hero decks.

Meditate is what I always wanted in Supports. Zero cost, keeping my fresh economy fresher, and turning my blanks into Force Speed, Force Throw special sides, or trip on the focus with Ghost Obi hocus-pocus.

Confidence is also another card I'm taking a shine to. I would love Vader to have a resource instead of Force Striking me up the ass for 3. I would love Poe to have a resource or disrupt me for resources I don't have instead of hurling that Mind Probe or U-Wing upside my chin. Good god, this card brings a smile to my face.

If you don't know why I have Holdout Blaster in there...well, just trust me maybe.

Heroism, Willpower - not much to be said there. Still will be very powerful. High Ground even with the Defensive Position situational feel will still be powerful, since you're abusing action economy and should be claiming the battlefield first. Speaking of...

I chose Secluded Beach because it will absolutely hurt you to the sum of zero, save turning off your High Ground. (If you have Holdout on that table for more than a turn you're doing it wrong.) And if you're playing against Jango, Bala, Baze, Chewie, Han, Poe, etc etc etc you'll be in great shape.

Conclusions

Looking forward to getting in games with this and modifying it to see what works and what doesn't. I just have an affinity for Luke, and think Rey will be a better partner than Ackbar come the expansion. I could be wrong.
