ForceSquad 346

Hello everyone! Matteo from Force Squad behind the keyboard :) I'm here to show the deck Nathan and I piloted to one of the first Italy regionals in Genova, with 31 people attending. The result was great, since I ended up 2nd and Nathan 10th with the same list (and our teammate Fabio reached top 4! His list will be uploaded shortly). We decided to use this particular deck because it worked very well winning a tournament a week earlier, and we modified it in prevision of a more important tournament. Here are some of our choices.

-Rey - Force Prodigy: the major change from the previous list: we liked the fact that 2 Padawan have a lot of resource recovery, but in testing 3 more health and a great action cheating made this card become a Kanan's apprentice instead of a Padawan.

-Handcrafted Light Bow: this card made a great appearence in all the games it appeared, so we kept it in. No more than one copy, since it is a very powerful card but you cannot use it at his best (like Poe does)

-Use The Force: with the action cheater in the team we need a focus to hit critical damage and kill an opponent's character OR control a threatening die. This card match both needs without using dice, so it is included in the deck.

-Rend: again I'm talking about this card. Great in theory, many cards that make Qui-Gon a thing are cost 0 supports and upgrades and removing them from game is absolutely beautiful. But in the tournament there was only 1/2 Qui-Gon, and other relevant decks don't really suffer from it. I never used it, the only good thing was that a Kylo picked it declaring blue once in the tournament.

And now, let's go into the report! It was a great tournament with a lot of different decks.

SWISS:

Round 1: Win vs Lando/Padme; an intresting mill deck I beated just before going deck out. He suffered a lot my melee sides helped by a lot of swords.

Round 2: Win vs Kylo/Grievous; Kylo died early with the help of an ambush on my action cheater which helped me in killing him without leaving an activation window. Grievous with not enough weapons was not a problem.

Reound 3: Win vs Ciena/Bala/Sister, piloted by our teammate Fabio. A good mix of controls and damage sides was the key of this match.

Round 4: Win vs Kylo/Vader; like vs the Grievous version, Kylo died enough fast to not being considered a problem. Vader alone is not able to face both my apprentices.

Round 5: Loss vs Ciena/Bala/Sister; a huge amount of damage on turn 1 and 2x Deadly when my only possibilities were shields and Force Illusion killed me really fast.

Round 6: Win vs Poe/Rey; a slow start from him permised me to take advantage and kill Rey fast. Then only Poe made his possible but it wasn't enough.

With a 5-1 record I entered the top 8 as 2nd. Our teammate Fabio also made it to the top as 6th, so we were confident on the result ;)

TOP:

Top 8: Win vs Rey/Ezra/Maz; a very intresting deck based on the Rey's action cheating that aim to steal your resources from the very first turn! It is a great idea and worked in 1 of the 3 games, but the difficult combinations of cards and dice faces on the board make it an unstable deck in my opinion, so I made it to the top 4.

Top 4: Win vs Ciena/Bala/Sister; again vs Fabio! This was such a pity, but these were the pairings and that's all. Good rolls made my plays easy and Fabio's plays difficult... Nothing particular to say about that game.

Final: Loss vs Poe/Rey, the same I encountered on round 6; we played a 1-hour-long game 1, because of the constant life recover on both sides. I lost that game because a forgotten Shoto trigger. Game 2 was one sided: Poe and Rey had 7/8 damage faces per die, and after 1 hour game 1 there was a 10 minutes game 2. Congratulations to my opponent, he was far more focused than me!

I want to thank everyone I met at the tournament, it was a beautiful experience. Please leave a comment or any opinion about the deck! Until the next time, goodbye :)
