This was the deck that I piloted to 6-0 in the Swiss rounds of the Brisbane Regionals, and knocked out in 3 matches during the top 4 playoff of the cut. This deck had received some limited testing throughout the weeks ahead of the regionals and the deck list had been fairly fluid, only being finalised the morning of the tournament. I had bounced around with how many Sith Holocron, It Binds All Things and force powers I was bringing. Brief summary of the deck. This decks runs 26/30 odd. I chose to run a more money package than only Sith Holocron to help enable the Rise Again and protect against Hondo Ohnaka - Respected Businessman who had been fairly popular in the meta, and ended up winning the regional. There was a late inclusion of Heirloom Lightsaber, due to my testing partner using both of ours, I was fortunate enough to have one of the other players, who also lost at top 4, lend me his. Including the Heirloom Lightsaber meant I added a second It Binds All Things to help get it and the force powers out. Other interesting cards of note Kylo Ren's Starfighter - mainly put this in for the mirror or any other unfortunate mono-decks I played. Unyielding - was spending time deciding between this and Frighten but ended up using this one to get around Force Illusion. Was not used all day. Rise Again - Never used all weekend, even though I had money for it multiple times due to Chance Cube. In other games I have used it multiple times however. Witch Magick - Only used twice all weekend, but absolutely key to the deck. Force Rend - Added to tech against the inevitable mill deck. Played 3 games against a villain mill deck across both days, but never saw the Hero versions, though there was 1 there, but never got to do the special. Spell of Removal - MVP card of the day, was able to remove great cards from their deck and remove dice at the same time when combined with Crystal Ball

Matches played

Game 1 - Hero Vehicles (eAayla/eRose/Ezra) - Spiked Ezra very quickly to turn off 6 cards in his deck that relied on yellow and reduced the effectiveness of Into The Garbage Chute. He struggled to get vehicles out and I only lost Talzin after he had already dropped 2 characters.

Game 2 - Yodas Girls (eYoda/Rey/Padawan) - My testing partner, so I was very familiar with his deck. He runs enough Grey that I hit less calls than I missed due to keeping them in hand for that purpose. I was able to kill his Padawan with a first action Kylo Ren - Tormented One call, while he still had Handcrafted Light Bow, luckily as he had 5ish redeploys that he hadn't found. This match went to time and he had lethal with a My Ally Is The Force but we realised that he had completely mismatched dice than what he should have had. Yoda had a Handcrafted Light Bow and Lightsaber, but the dice in the pool were Heirloom Lightsaber and Rey's Lightsaber. After we realised this, my opponent conceded. Bit of an unfortunate way to win, but my testing partner ended up 5-1 with this his only loss and 2nd after the swiss.

Game 3 - Villain Mill (eJabba/Newt/Nightsister) - Interesting deck that was quite effective at hitting both hand and deck. I lost the battlefield roll and had to contend with losing 2 cards from deck from claiming and Grand Moff. Jabba got a fast hands early and was my main priority as he also had a salvage stand out for optimal choke. I was able to hit a lot Kylo Ren - Tormented One calls for yellow but still got hit with Lying in Wait and No Disintegrations and Grand Moff power action enough to lose my whole deck. I was able to still get a lot of upgrades out and was able to close it out with no cards in deck and 5 in my hand.

Game 4 - Kylo Mirror (eKylo/eTalzin) - I was expecting to see at least 1 mirror, and Kylo Ren's Starfighter was added to the deck to help with this. This mirror will always be a quick one due to constant Kylo Ren - Tormented One specials, and can be a bit of chicken due to Mother Talzin - Nightsister Matriarch being able to cancel each other out. I was able to find my upgrades and Witch Magick first while he targeted my Mother Talzin - Nightsister Matriarch. I targeted his Kylo Ren - Tormented One and was able to kill him before he killed my Mother Talzin - Nightsister Matriarch and was able to lose it out from there.

Game 5 - Sabine Ezra - A deck that I felt fairly confident going in to the match due to mono. After a relatively strong turn 1 which put 4 damage onto a gunless Sabine Wren - Explosives Expert for 2 in return, I got an Heirloom Lightsaber and hit my Kylo call on roll in, unfortunately my opponent had rolled into 2 x +2 guns on Ezra and saw a blowout coming, but missed that I had lethal on the table for Sabine and I killed her before her turn 2 roll in. My opponent conceded soon after and I ended the match with 2 damage taken total.

Game 6 - Cad Bane/Cienna - Cad Bane - Vicious Mercenary is one of my favourite characters but I hadn't been able to make him work in my testing for regionals. I was able to hit a lot of my calls and didn't lose a character.

I ended the day 6-0 for the Swiss and went into the 2nd day in top position. My testing partner had only dropped the game to me, and throughout the day had fairly convincingly beaten both teams that ended up in the final on Day 2. He came 2nd with his 5-1 record. Unfortunately he was not able to attend the second day, but would have likely done well given he had beaten both finalists.

Day 2 Villain Mill (eJabba/Newt/Nightsister) - 2-0 Same opponent I versed the previous day. He had come 9th but my testing partner nnot being able to make the 2nd day pushed him up to 8th. First game I was able to win the roll and we played on my battlefield, that he quickly New Orders back to his. He got a FH Jabba again and the Grand Moff power action did work when he got it out but I was able to flood the board with upgrades and grind him down. Game 2 I was able to Spell of Removal some key cards early and got the win with cards still in deck.

Hero Ships (1-2) Hard counter to this deck, managed to pick up 1 game in the best of 3 but lost over all. This opponent lost to Hondo-Poe in the finals.

How is your matchup against R2P2? Just wondering how you cope with all the shield spamming. I'm very new to the game

Hi Bminny, R2P2 had really fallen out of favour in my local meta so I didn't verse any. If this is prevalent in your meta, I would be looking to include Frighten for it being 1 cost and stripping shields.

Thank you very much for the input. I will definitely try that out. Any tips on who to attack first? Also how aggressive should I be? Thanks

The battlefield also helps with the shield shenanigans. In an r2p2, its kind of dependent on where they put their upgrades. That deck lives and dies by getting evil upgrades out. Generally I would be going for Poe Dameron - More Than A Pilot, it turns off giving Rey - Finding The Ways Shields for her action, and action chaining into Poe Dameron's Blaster and Handcrafted Light Bow specials. But if they stack Rey, have to judge the board state.
