Hi everybody! Today I'm here to write about the deck I played at the 2018 World Championship, and which made me take the 19th place of the event. I've played this deck a lot, trying different versions of it and so many different cards; due to my experience with this particular deck, its strength and its surprise factor I decided for it to play the World Championship.

I'm not going to talk about the list, it's the simple evolution of the previous versions you can find on our profile with choices made for the meta we were expecting, but feel free to ask anything. I'll be happy to answer ;)

Here's the report:

Round 1: Bye

Round 2: Win vs Yoda/Hondo. The opponent was the German national champion, a guy I hope to meet again since it was really fun to play with him. A bad start for me (no weapons for 2 rounds) would have probably become a loss, but I managed to kill the opponent's 6-health-Yoda with 7 unblockable damage using Vibroknife+All In and that was game-deciding. Thanks Rey!

Round 3: Win vs Boba/Phasma. Not a bad matchup since I have a lot of health and 3 characters, but it was a close game (my opponent played Swiftness+We Have Them Now and my advantage disappeared suddenly). However the Padawan was strong enough to kill Boba in the 1vs1.

Round 4: Win vs Kylo/Talzin. This time the opponent was the Spanish national champion, another guy I want to meet again for sure. Kylo was not so painful (0/3 hits) since I kept a lot of grey cards in my hand, and while killing him I was able to keep the Holocrons under control to not being in trouble facing Talzin.

Round 5: Loss vs Yoda/Hondo, piloted by Zach Iniguez. Probably the worst game I played vs the best opponent start (2x Speed, 2x Cunning and 2x Light Bow due to Stolen Intel). I made a huge mistake paying Hondo in round 1, and my initial disadvantage grew up round by round.

Round 6: Win vs BROtk. One of this deck's best matchups. No resets on round 1 (the weakest one for me) made the game easy for me.

I went to day with a 5-1 record.

Round 7: Loss vs Sabine/Yoda. I was supposed to win this game, but when Sabine draws Impersonate (the last card that could save her) and starts rolling at least 7 damage for activation the game is over. That's probably the game that kicked me out from the top 16, since my opponent went 6-3 at the end of the tournament (beating only me on day 2).

Round 8: Win vs Aurra/Talzin. Another version of one of the top 16 decks, and the game was close. Fortunately, my opponent had too much health to deal with.

Round 9: Win vs Obi/Maz. Last game to hope being in the top cut, so both of us played very carefully. When time was called there were 16 damage on my side (Padawan dead) and 11 on my opponents' (Maz dead, 3 damage on Obi) but I managed to kill Obi thanks to a Power of the Force that changed Yoda's 2 into 4 which became 3+2+2+2 unblockable thanks to Vibroknife (all that during Force Speed extra actions).

I ended the swiss rounds with a 7-2 record, still not enough to reach the top 16 (19th, damn it).

I want to thank sincerely every person I met during the whole event. I had a lot of fun and enjoyed a lot staying there. I hope to meet everyone again, maybe during the next world championship! Until then, have fun playing Destiny and let this beautiful game grow over and over :)

Congratz on an awesome performance, Matteo! With a little more luck, you would’ve made the cut... but you’re the 19th best player in the world anyway!
